JP McCarthy:

Jon-Paul Antony McCarthy, born 1981 in London studied Art, Human Biology and Sports Science, before moving to Dublin, Ireland, where I studied Classical Animation at Ballyfermont College and Life Drawing at Trinity College.

After leaving, I worked on many projects in different places and spent a lot of time in Italy, before coming back to London to meet a portrait painter, Alexander Talbot-Rice.

I became his assistant were I had the opportunity to work on paintings of people such as HM The Queen and HRH Prince Philip.

I then moved to Stockholm, Sweden where I worked on various projects both in animation and Fine art. I now live in London working mostly in the art of caricature under the name the Caricature Shack. I also do freelance illustrations and commissioned paintings. I have worked for many large well known companies such as The Daily Mail, British Airways, AOL to name but a few and have had many illustrations published, I’m a proud member of the NCN The National Caricaturist Network.
